ITS 87 Trailside Location
Join us for first class accommodations in the heart of Maine's finest snowmobiling region. The Forks area trail system is part of Maine's 12,000 mile Interconnecting Trail System (ITS). You can ride the trails north to Jackman, east to Moosehead or west to Eustis. Crab Apple is on ITS 87 so you can ride right from your room to trails that are groomed every night. The facilities at Crab Apple are top notch. Our spacious lodge serves up great food, drink and hospitality in our restaurant and pub. Rooms overlook the Kennebec River and range from romantic luxury suites with double jacuzzi tubs to cottages sleeping 10 people. Snowmobile Rentals
We have an extensive fleet of Arctic Cats for rent or you can bring your own sled. Both unguided and guided rentals are available as well as snowmobile clothing rentals. Crab Apple rents a variety of Arctic Cat snowmobiles. All sleds have electric start, reverse and hand/thumb warmers. The sindle sleds are either Z-440's or Z-570's. Our double sleds are P-570's or 660 4 strokes. Rentals are available 7 days a week. Clothing and gear for riding are available for rent. This is an exciting option for people who have never seen the sun sparkle on a fresh snowfall deep in the woods, far from civilization. Try it this winter, you'll love it!

Rentals run from 7:30am-5pm, seven days a week.
Single person sled rental
Z-440 weekday $135/weekend $160
Z-570 weekday $175/weekend $200
Two person sled rental
P-570 weekday $160/weekend $185
660( 4 stroke) weekday $175/weekend $200
Second Day sled rental (single)—save $25 on the second day rental
Second Day sled rental (two person)—save $25 on the second day rental
Included: Helmet, Pre-trip instruction, Touring Sled, Local Trail Map
Needed Extras: Winter Riding Clothing (rentals available), Money for Lunch & Gas
Note: A $1500 deposit per sled is required for each sled rented. A major credit card is required and will be pre-authorized. All renters are responsible for any damage done to the sled. All participants will be required to sign a rental/liabilty agreement.
Bring Your Own Snowmobile
You are welcome to trailer your own snowmobiles to Crab Apple. Maine state law requires that all personally owned snowmobiles be registered with the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife. Guided Snowmobile Rentals
We are now offering guided snowmobile trips. Let one of our licensed Maine Guides show you Maine's pristine wilderness.
Day Length: 7:30am-5:00pm, seven days a week
Guided Trip: $275.00 (1-6) guests
Trip Includes: Licensed Maine Guide, pre-trip instruction, Guided Trip through untouched Maine Wilderness, Trailside Snack (weather permitting).
Needed Extras: Touring sled, Winter Riding Clothing (rentals available), Money for lunch & Gas
