                          What's New

Some things are always going to be the same here at Crab Apple Whitewater -- great personal service from our family and staff, state of the art equipment, etc. -- but others keep improving. Check out what's new for 2009.

Honesty in Pricing

  • No hidden charges
  • No additional river access fees
  • Lunches and snacks included in pricing
  • No "reservation" or "processing" fees

"Honesty in pricing" really isn't new at Crab Apple, but our guests need to know that we do not hide or add extra costs onto your trip or vacation. Some outfitters add a 2% "reservation fee" onto your bill. Others advertise a lower price on Maine rivers only to tell you later that, for example, the price does not include $11.50 of "river acces fees" that we pay to landowners on the Dead River. Our prices include snacks and meals as advertised. WE DO NOT REPRESENT ONE PRICE AND THEN NICKEL AND DIME (TRY $5 AND $10) YOU TO A HIGHER PRICE!

As you know, family members participate in all facets of our trips. It would not be easy to face our guests if we were adding these costs rather than being honest in our pricing to begin with.

Massachusetts Base Camp

We spent the fall and winter of '07-'08 tearing down our old base lodge along the Deerfield and

constructing a beautiful new facility. The improvements include:

  • Large gathering space overlooking the river for before and after trips
  • Flat screen TV's for viewing rafting slide shows and watching the Red Sox and Patriots after a trip
  • Large retail area
  • Generous bathrooms
  • Large check-in and greeting area
  • New snack bar

For those of you that have rafted before with us on the Deerfield, we are excited to show you a

wonderful new experience. We have always enjoyed our riverside location -

now we have a facility to maximize your comfort and the atmosphere along the river.

For our new guests, come and see this beautiful new facility that sits within a few feet of the

scenic and historic Deerfield River. It will help make your raft trip even more special.
