TRIP DESCRIPTION
This beautiful rafting trip through mild whitewater (Class I & II with one Class III) is the perfect outing for families, friends, groups and youth organizations. Rafting time is approximately 2.5 hours with a hearty meal included after rafting. Meals are served dry and warm at Crab Apple’s riverside base camp.
Our Fife Brook trip starts out with a roller coaster ride at “Hurricane Rapid” followed by bouncy rapids such as “Sideways Splash”, “Freight Train” and “Pinball”. Calm sections between rapids allow your River Guide to fill you in on local history and to enjoy the breathtaking scenery of the Berkshires. Part way through the trip our self-bailing rafts approach the day’s biggest rapid, “Zoar Gap”. The river suddenly narrows and drops for the fastest and most fun rapid of the day.
After safely navigating “Zoar Gap”, raft teams will enjoy optional team water fights and more rapids such as “Slam Dance”. When our journey down the river ends, we return to Crab Apple for a hearty meal overlooking the Deerfield River and an entertaining look at photos from your adventure.
Raft Capacity/Private Raft: Our rafts hold 6-7 paddlers (6 is ideal). We have a few rafts that hold 8, which are great for mixing adults and kids. Groups of 6, 7, or 8 will always have a private raft. Groups with fewer than 6 may be joined by other parties.
Includes: Pre-trip safety instruction, professional guide, PFD and helmet, wetsuits (spring only), post-trip meal (chicken, fish or veggie w/homemade salads, dessert, drinks), transportation to and from river, photo presentation of your adventure.
Schedule: The Fife Brook Section trip runs nearly every day from early May through early October thanks to hydroelectric dam releases.

“Great Family Fun
Just a fantastic operation! We went as a family outing and it was fantastic start to finish. They’ve taken fantastic steps to maintain social distancing from the time you arrive, pre-arranged parking spots, to when you leave, family specific tables for dinner … Great family run business and would highly recommend!
– FJH
“So Worth the Money
100 percent perfect. That was real whitewater rafting. The crew were so welcoming and the rapids are the real deal. The food that Crab Apple provided at the end was out of this world. 5 Stars.
